Youth Umpire Standards :

Tealtown Ballpark is rapidly becoming the premier youth baseball
and softball facility in the southwestern Ohio area. We are home to
over 70 Tee-Ball, Little League, Knothole, Fast-Pitch Softball and
Select baseball teams, with over 1,000 young people in the
program.

In addition to league play, we are hosting several baseball and
softball tournaments at the national, regional, state and local
levels. As our program grows, so does our need for good youth
umpires. We are looking for youth umpires who will accept the
responsibility of representing Tealtown Ballpark on the field. Our
youth umpires are paid, and thus we expect the youth who request
and secure these positions to treat umpiring for what it is -A JOB!
All umpires will need to attend baseball and softball training
classes and will be required to pass respective test certifying them
as to their knowledge of the playing rules.
 

Additionally, all umpires will need to purchase the appropriate
uniform(s) for their respective positions. (For baseball and softball:
Gray slacks and the mesh blue umpire shirt.) This dress code is
mandatory at all times. The blue mesh shirt can be purchased
through Tealtown Ballpark. They are $20 each (Tealtown will pay
½) and the umpire can bring $10 to the training classes and a shirt
will be ordered for them. It is also mandatory for all umpires to
wear the appropriate equipment while on the field. This includes shin

guards, chest protector and a facemask.

All umpires will be expected to act mature and professional
ANYTIME they are at Tealtown Ballpark, whether on the playing
field or around the concession stand.

The umpires will be selected, trained, scheduled and evaluated by
the Tealtown Umpire-In-Chief. Umpire selection and
retention will be based upon performance. I understand that as an
umpire for Tealtown, I am trained and expected to umpire baseball
and softball games at Tealtown Ballpark.

I have read and understand the Umpire Standards, and agree to
abide by them if hired by Tealtown Ballpark. My parents/guardians
also agree with Tealtown Ballpark's requirements.
